On Thursday, June 18th, 2015, EIBN with the support of the Directorate Electronics and Telematics Industry, Ministry of Industry and the Indonesian Global IT Association (INDOGLOBIT) organized the Info Session on Indonesian ICT Market: Towards an Integrated Network. Around 20 participants from European embassies, trade promotion agencies and chambers of commerce were present during the meeting.
The meeting was opened by Mr Jan Roennfeld, EIBN Executive Director, who welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of the ICT sector as a market for EU companies to invest. The first part of the Info Session was focused on the presentation of the EIBN ICT Sector Report, which aimed to provide an overview of the ICT market in Indonesia including analytical data of the market, local mobile operators, government ongoing and future projects and the potential business opportunities for European companies.
Ms Enny Santiastuti from Directorate Electronics and Telematics Industry, Ministry of Industry, presented government ongoing and upcoming potential ICT projects in Indonesia and market incentives and facilities for the foreign companies aiming to manufacture in the ICT industry and specifically in the mobile industry in Indonesia.
The meeting was followed by the presentation from Mr Gun Gun Gunawan from Indoglobit, an association which aims to promote mutual digital partnership with EU companies and Indonesian products in European countries.
In the end, EIBN presented the Trade Mission opened for European companies, to be organized in November 2015 in Jakarta, focused on introducing ICT market in Indonesia and creating business opportunities for interested participants.
